Jackie Casey presented the award
for Leadership & People Development at the National Constructing Excellence
Awards on the 19th November
2010 at The Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
The award sponsored by Success Train for the second time was
presented to the winners, GKR Maintenance & Building Co Ltd from Wales, who were clearly
able to define improvements resulting from leadership and training
interventions. The winning entry was chosen by the judges as it has shown a
huge top down commitment to all aspects of the leadership and people agenda
and, as a result, has enhanced the offer to internal and external customers.
This was an incredibly closely fought category and as a result
judges awarded a highly commended status to Blackpool
Build Up who engaged all relevant stakeholders whilst ensuring that outcomes
could be scaled up to a national platform.
Entries were asked to show respect to the workforce and local
communities, while simultaneously winning respect from them through workforce
development, skills and training, benchmarking, equality and diversity, and
improvements to the working environment.
